Coming to Egypt

Hello Everyone,
Starting this fall I will be studying in Cairo (for the year). I am very interested in Social Justice and Peace work. If any of you have any advice for me regarding social justice work (volunteering etc.) or general life in the city I would really appreciate it.

Welcome To EGypt
Alligator, you will miss a lot of Egypt beauty if you do not come to pay "Bibliotheca Alexandrina" a visit. It is just beautiful.
For any volunteerly work, which is so many, please contact Mr.Abdallah Diwan at abdallah@takingitglobal.org . He is a very active and friendly young man.
Cairo is crowded and traffic is just too much, so be prepared for your first cultural shock. But Cairo has a lot of attractions other than any other city in Egypt, I think. It is easy to ask others for help, EGyptians are famous for generosity and friendliness, but at the same time you have to take your care.
Love to meet you and hope you have a pleasant time on the Land of Pharaohs.
P.S I do really recommend you to buy a very valubale book called:"Lonely Planet", a very informative and comprehensive book about everything in EGypt. I think it is around 27 US Dollar, written in English. I am sure you will find it at any big bookstore in your country.
